It's easy to start playing backgammon with GammonEmpire: Just download the software, install it and choose your partner.

Downloading

·     Click the GammonEmpire "DOWNLOAD" button. You can find the button on the left hand side or at the bottom of our website pages.

·      Choose "Save this program to disk" and click "OK".

·     You will be asked to select a location to save the "BGInstall.exe" file. Select a location and click "Save". We suggest that you choose your Windows Desktop; This is normally the default setting. If you have decided to save the program in a different folder, remember the exact location you saved it in.

·      The file will start downloading to your computer, and you will see a status bar indicating its progress. Once the download is complete, a pop-up window message might appear, notifying you that the download is finished. Click on "Close" button.

Installing

• Go to your Desktop (or the location where you chose to save the program) and double click on the GammonEmpire icon. If you cannot find the icon on your desktop, follow these steps:
  • Click on the "Start" menu on the bottom left-hand corner of your screen.
  • Choose "Find" (or "Search") and then click "Files or Folders...".
  • If you are asked "What do you want to search for?", choose "All files and folders".
  • Type "BGInstall" inside the white window labeled "file name".
  • Click on "Find Now" (or "Search"). Double click on the icon, once you have located the file.

·         Select the desired location. We recommend using the default destination by simply clicking on "Next". The installation process will begin. 

·         Upon completion of the installation process, you are ready to play for the first time. Please choose whether you wish to play for "Money Play" or for "Practice Play" by clicking on the appropriate button. Please note that "first time" Practice Players are not required to register in order to play the games. Just click on Practice Play and start playing. "First time" Money Players will be asked to register in order to receive a username and secure password.
